Our Story
Searching For Identity Foundation was created in response to a writing workshop experience that began in 2013 with individuals who whose parents were Holocaust survivors.
Prior to the workshop, the participants had never gathered and shared their common background. As a journalist, I knew the stories, written and discussed in a private setting, must be available to a greater audience, accessible for educational purposes and academic research.
I also understood that the writing workshop functioned as way to explore the complicated concept of identity for individuals whose lives are infused with the effects of the their parents' Holocaust survivorship.
The workshops led to the creation of Searching For Identity as a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Today we offer dynamic programming:
Projects and Programs include:
Public Programming

Art Exhibitions
“LiterARTure” Literature and Arts Lecture Series

Continuing to ensure these stories are remembered,
Stacey
