Why a Second- or Third-Gen Holocaust Survivor Speaker?
The Reality - Today, fewer and fewer Holocaust survivors are able to share their experiences.
Next Generation - However, the survivors’ children & grandchildren are determined to give voice to their families’ survivor stories.
Direct Link - Students and adult audiences will learn about their parents’ experiences and understand that the Holocaust directly influences their families.
Common Bond - Learning about a personal story with a Gen2Gen speaker creates a bond, connecting generations. In this way, we honor and remember the Holocaust survivors’ remarkable legacy.
Searching For Identity has been working with the descendants of the survivor community--offering writing workshops and other performing and visual arts partnerships--to ensure that their parents’ and grandparents’ stories will be shared with future generations.
