Event Details:  A panel discussion featuring two Judaic scholars from the University of Florida Department of Special and Area Studies Collections of the George A. Smathers Libraries, Isser and Rae Price Library of Judaica, Head Curator, Rebecca Jefferson, Ph D. and Library Coordinator for Jewish heritage, Katalin Rac, Ph D. will explore
    •    the origins of anti-Judaism
    •    the evolution of anti-Semitism
    •    why the library collection contains anti-Semitica
    •    relevance of the collection in today’s world.
As we learn the genesis of this important issue, we are equipped to deconstruct it and build understanding. Please join us for this important, thought-provoking evening.  Open to the public

SFI Writing Workshops

The writing workshops meet monthly at JFCS and focus on the "Second Gen" experience. The workshop series is on-going and offered both during the day and in the evening. Guided writing prompts harness and explore:
    •    Memories of growing up in a survivor household
    •    Responsibilities associated with their parents' legacies
    •    Considerations of the Second Gen identity
    •    Preparations for speaking to schools, organizations and the public
Although labeled a "writing workshop," participants are encouraged but never required to write.
Lunch and Light Dinner provided
Two workshops are offered monthly. Writers can come to one or both!
10:30 am: Morning workshop wraps up with lunch
6:30 pm:  Evening workshop with light dinner provided
